problems with transmission front oil pump?

problems with transmission front oil pump?
Anyone ever had or heard of problems with the front oil pump for the transmission? It is located right behind the torque converter. Wondering if it is the source of a noise I have, a mechanic online speculated it might be but I have my doubts.
