I recently did an autocross event (just for kicks and giggles) with my 2002 ls430 with a little less then 1/4 of a tank of fuel. On my first two runs I would go around a sharp right turn and then car would disengage as if the traction control was shutting the car down to a complete stop. Since I was low on fuel I decided to run to the gas station and get 4 gallons of fuel, thus making is a little more then 1/4 of a tank. I then ran again and the car had no issue with shutting down. So I figured it was just not getting fuel.

That night after driving around town, about 40 miles. I was back down to about 1/8 of a tank. I went to a right turn again and the car bogged way down and lost power like it did at the event. I pulled over and the car idled very low. I shut off the vehicle and then it would not cut back on and through a CEL Code. Tried going to the parts store to borrow a scan tool but they would not allow it. Once the car sat for about 20 minutes, it started up more easily but then died after about 5 seconds... I decided to get about 5 gallons off gas to see if it would help. It did. The car started right up and drove home normally.

I have narrowed it down to when it gets at a 1/8 of fuel and I take a right hand turn, is when the issue occurs.... Any Ideas what it could be?

2002 Lexus LS430 124,028 Premium Fuel. never had fuel issue until today.

Sounds like your fuel pump got stuck or hung up on something inside the gas tank during your Race track incursion. lol.. not sure how to fix but seems like your fuel is empty at or near 1/8 tank now.

Could be the fuel level sending unit (in the gas tank) perhaps.
