I just bought an 01 today because the miles and price were too good to pass on.

Just debating the route I want to take on the car.

What did you get it for?

The one I see is 100K for $8.5

2001 original owner (80 year old woman) has 70K miles for 10K. Needs tires (going 2006 liquid silver 18" OEM's or 19-20 Varrstoens 1.1.3) and trunk struts. Otherwise its CLEAN.

The 01 with 70K needing tires for 10K sounds like a good deal. Even if you need to put a few extra into the 01 the 06 (which might still require some additional dollars) will be depreciating at a faster rate for double the money and they both drive equally well.

Easiest ti tell, f you have rear seat radio controls, you have Ultra. If no radio controls, but you have leather trimmed lower dash then Custom. Anything else is ML or lower (no nav)

Ahh it has no nav so that must mean it's lower than ML.

I have an '04, and I like the subtle upgrades (especially the tail lights) but I could never make the case that it's worth the substantial premium over the earlier editions.

The big "draw" for me on the LS is having a big, comfortable sedan that's built like a tank. The "gadget" list was just never that big of a deal, and if anything, I'm wary of too much technology because it usually means more repairs.

If you find a great deal on an earlier one, I'd scoop it up. It's 95% the same car for close to 50% less money.

I have a 04 UL and I never get to use the extras, lol, since they're all in the back. Although I am thinking of getting my own personal chauffeur...just kidding on the chauffeur that's what I have a wife for, haha.

If compare base to base then maybe 90% same car (exterior and 6 speed), but if you go upstream you further add backup camera and Bluetooth, so I would say 75-80% car. Last two are big.conveniences in my book and portable GPS don't function the same and I can't stand dangling wires.

10-12K for a clean 01 depending on mileage.

He lives in the UK probably $5450 GBP is what he paid not USD. So Im guessing he got it for around $8700 USD.
