Default How many have changed the rear cabin filter?

Just curious how many have changed the rear cabin filter on their UL.

Even with the CL discount from Sewell, $154, ouch. What's so special about it that it costs so much more than the front?

Interested in hearing from others whether you've changed that, and if so what mileage, how dirty was it, etc.

I presume you're talking about the optical filter in the trunk? IIRC, I paid around $60 a few years ago, still haven't changed it yet. There are also 4 more filters in the back, one under each seat and one in the door sill (I think for the ultra only -- at least LS430's w/ cooled/vented rear seats). Those weren't dirty at all when I changed them at 30K mi. The front cabin filter in the glove box and driver's side seat filter are the ones that get dirty. It also depends on how clean the air is where you live. If you live in CA, the air is pretty dirty. The cabin filter light on mine came on at 25K mi with 21K mi of that driven in CA. After I changed them, I'm up to 53K mi so far and no light. The air is much cleaner in NM/So AZ (but not Phoenix).

I did... It's about 75usd in Russia, although still deemed expensive by many here. My rear a/c lines are cut (most ls430 had this done due to corrosion of the a/c pipes), but rear unit still works as an air purifier, and clean filter is essential for this...

I replaced my rear optical filter in 2010 at 60,000 miles. Cost: $68 from local Lexus dealer. The old one actually looked so good that I kept it.
