'02 Tail Lamp Failure
On my 2002 LS430, I am getting a tail lamp failure message on my dash. Problem is that this morning it is not there. It has happened 3-4 days but next day may be gone and not light up at all. Anyone have any ideas greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Harry

you're the in the LS400 section, not the LS430 but anywho, you should remove the taillights and check which bulb is burnt. it's a possibility that one of the bulbs are burnt out. if none of those are, you should also check the 3rd brake light because when that bulb is burnt out, it will trigger the taillamp failure message.
A bulb that isn't drawing as much current, or corrosion will cause that too. Either way you would have no burnt bulb and still a warning, or possibly an intermittant warning.
Does it happen when dry, but not when wet out?

I'm having a simlar issue with the small push in type bulb on the rear passenger side top left. I had a warning, it went away, came back, I seen the bulb out and replaced it, it went away for a month and just came back. I'm going to clean the contacts, replace the bulb and see what happens.
