Nothing wrong with doing a long road trip in a 10 year old car, especially an LS at that. As long as it is properly maintained, you have nothing to worry about.
I go to Michigan & Chicago once a month in my RX, it's a 2000 mile trip. It doesn't complain one bit, It cruises effortlessly at 85 mph. Gas mileage isn't the greatest but I can live with that. lol
