Default 2004 facelift worth it?

I was looking at 2001-2003 and slowly my budget keeps increasing. I was looking at a local here and they have a 2004 cherry purplish color with tan interior. It has 114k miles. He has all service records up to 110k miles. I dont know what package it is or if it even has a package. It has park sensors, nav, ml stereo, heated rear seats, and the other basic stuff. He was asking 17k and he said he would do 15k for cash. I dont know the pricing for these. I was going to offer 13.5k, he was desperate for money it seemed. What are your guys opinions? Thanks

The car sounds loaded. has the timing belt service been done? $ 15k for an '04 with 114k miles is reasonable. if you can get him to go lower....go for it!

It has the options I like (nav, rear camera, park sensors). I know it doesnt have some ultra options such as the dynamic cruise or the rear seat options. But it is good enough for me. I offered 13k and he went down to 14.5k. I am pretty sure I can get it for at least 14k. I will try to push for 13.75k if I can. He is the second owner and showed me all the stacks of papers for maintenance. He did the 90k service at 100k miles. New tires, fluids flushed, battery, brakes, plugs, etc was done. I did a quick kbb and 15k looks like average price. I like to get my cars cheaper. So I wanna try to get it for under 14k. Ill be happy then

It sounds like a ML (modern luxury) package. '04 is a bit more than a facelift - in addition to aesthetic changes you've got monotube shocks, 6-sp transmission, LED tails, upgraded Nav, knee airbag, and I think a few more items. Some like me much prefer the '04, but only you can decide if any of that is important to you. They're all superb cars.

I appreciate your input. What do you think a 04 with 114k miles would go for with a modern luxury package?

I'm not in the market and not really a good person to ask, but I'd start checking national listings in Autotrader/etc. to start to get a feel for pricing; also try Kelly BB and anything else you can find, that should give you a good ballpark. My gut feeling is you're pretty close for a high-miles car like that.

If it was 13,750 or 14,500 it sounds like a winner if its been wreck/cty traffic miles free. nice color, enjoy.

I did the kbb and autotrader. The average price is around 15k and that isnt considering if it has options yet. That is just an 04 with 115k or more miles. Trade is is something like 12.5-13k. So if I can get it for 13.5kish I will be pretty happy.

I ran the vin and It is all clean. The owner still owes some money to bank but they said they would pay it off beforehand. He is the second owner and all service records including the 90k at lexus dealer.

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me. The 04 is definitely worth the extra money over the 01-03's.

Update, The lowest the seller will do is 14k. Is this price average or is it a really good price? I am currently borderline. It has 114k miles with all service and the owner even offered to wax and shampoo, a full tank of gas if I bought the car. I like the 2004, I just dont know if the price is right or if I should wait it out.
