Default Cabin Air Filter replacement Question

Just did an inspection of my cabin air filter.Just a quick question though. On the DIY videos, it shows the 01-03 LS430. It makes a note of having to pull down the filter an inch and then pulling it straight out. Well, when I opened mine, my filter was simply resting there, ready to be pulled out. When I went to put it back in, I shined a flash light to investigate and there was no type of mechanism, tension or otherwise, to hold it up in place, as in the video. It appears however, that there are these white ramps in the back of the white housing that seem to raise the filter casing up to level, and the door itself has these ramps that I am assuming push the filter into position once the door is closed. Just curious as to why my particular setup does not hold itself up. Im concerned that Im not getting the proper seal. Mine just slides in and out. Any thoughts?

Take a look at this video, at :30, and :31 and 1:00 you can see these black ramp like things inside. I have no such ramps. Just the ramp like thingies that are part of the housing itself.... My space is all white inside. It does'nt look like anything is broken in my car.....Not sure if my car is supposed to be missing this piece, but it is making me wonder.....

The lid, when properly closed, will lift filter up. It's all good. Check your lid and you'll see.

The 04 does not have that feature. The filter is straight in, straight out.

Yep agree - filter just slides in and out. I pull mine out every 3 months or so and just clean it with the shop vac and brush attachment. Very easy.

I just bought my 2004 LS430 from a big reputable dealer in Alexandria Virginia, Ted Britt. I went to replace the cabin and seat filters. But both seat assemblies were missing as well as the cabin filter....now I'm suspicious this was a parts car! I'll have to search for what I can do....
