Do you happen to remember what tires you were running on that? And the specs
pulled this off another thread (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/4771937-post5.html )
Here's an LS430 with 18" 06+ GS430 wheels

Pic of my 2001 with 2007 GS350 18" wheels with WLAD body kit, trunk spoiler and roof spoiler.
Appreciate all the posts in this thread.
I think it looks fantastic but I will be going to 16" since this is quite a stiff ride.

Yep the 2001 had 16" as standard and 17" as an option.
This car is what I am aiming for looks wise, I think it looks fantastic. I may remove the body kit when I get them on since I bought it with the kit it on. It looks good with 18s but might look weird with 16s.

Another member swears by his 16’s. He put on LS400 wheels from 98-00, the 5 spokes.
I’d love to drive a 430 with 16’s. I have 17’s now and air suspension and it rides the best of any car I’ve owned, but curious to feel how much smoother it can be on 16’s!

I, too, am wrestling with this wheels decision. I have a '98 LS with 16" wheels and an '05 LS with 18" wheels. The '98 is smoother and much quieter. I'm looking at getting a used set of OEM IS250 17" wheels and trying those on the '05, since they're cheaper and easier to find than the 17" OEM LS wheels. They probably won't be as smooth and quiet as the 16" on the '98 but I'm hoping they'll be better than the 18" on the '05.

I had 18's with sport suspension (on ****test roads ever) it was too harsh for me.
Went to the non-sport springs + OEM 5 spoke 17's - much better now.
I would also suggest to use 235/55/17 vs 225/55 OEM. The ride will probably be very comparable to OEM 16's.
And much better in looks.

Can you post a picture of your car with 235/55r17?
I ordered some refurbished 16s and am looking at tires while they ship
OEM (17) 225/55r17 diameter is 26.7"
235/55r17 diameter is 27.2"
OEM (16) 225/60r16 is 26.6"
235/60r16 diameter is 27.1" - I would prefer this size but the P7 doesn't come in this size unfortunately but if it looks considerably better might go michelin premier
