How long does CPO cover you for again typically ? 3yrs/ or 100k on the odometer?

If the cars weren’t so reliable then I would go for the warranty. The price difference that you’re quoting is not worth it. You won’t spend the difference in repairs, but if you sleep better, and have extra cash then go for it.
