I have an 05 430. After 2 weeks of driving it the CD player kept getting stuck & saying "cd error" a loud noise was coming from where you insert the CDs. In order to play a cd I would have to eject then reinsert ALL the CDs.

Shortly after when I went to turn the car on I would have to get jumps.. I went and had my battery tested & was told it was fine.
Then the car wouldn't even start without a jump and it was a horrible smell like rotten eggs. Every time I got in the car my head hurt from the smell.
I turned the display off because my head hurt. Then drive to auto zone and had a new battery put in. The guy said my old battery was in horrible condition.

I went to turn the display back on and it wouldn't. Nit even the clock display was working.

I've been reading this forum and see that there has been a recall issue with the 2004 model, I've called Lexus & they claim there is no such recall.

I have an appt for service on Monday but I fear I'm going to be extremely over charged...

Any ideas?

 

I don't have much to offer with your CD malfunction problem, but I did recently go through the rotten egg smell. The Lexus dealer smelled it and couldn't figure it out so they said I had bad gas. When I got home from the dealer, I had to go back out for a quick second and the battery was dead. I replaced the battery and haven't had anymore rotten egg smells. The old battery was really swollen on the sides.

Thanks, I've already replaced the battery and fuse & now the smell is gone & display working. Still having the cd troubles thou.. :-/

 

&& now the AFS light is blinking!! I swear if it's not one think it's another with this car
