Hi folks. I am looking to trade my 98 LS for a 2001/2003 LS430 and had a question about the nav.

I'm looking at an 01 but the navigation icon blinks while moving. What would cause this? All the others I've driven are solid. Does it need an update?

First time i heard about thing like this... I think there's something wrong with nav unit. It shouldn't blink any buttons in any case.

 

Keep the '98.

 

my 01 binked also. i drove it like that for 3 years, updated the nav disc every year, and never had a problem with it. it just blinked....

 

That's just they way it is on that generation NAV. My friends 02 LX's NAV does the same thing. I personally find it annoying. My 05 Does not blink. His NAV's disc reader died a couple of months ago so now he doesn't have that problem anymore....

 

my 01 nab indicator blinks as well and i don't have any problems

 

Me too. It's not very often though.
