The brakes on my 2004 LS430 have really weakened. At first I assumed front pads, so replaced those using the excellent guide posted on here. But I realised the old ones were not all that worn - and the rears are also OK.

Master cylinder seems fine, so I'm betting it's the front caliper pistons as a couple of other people have had the same problem. I've got the front caliper repair kit, but wondered if anyone on here has experience of fitting it and can offer any tips or advice.

There is a very good caliper rebuild guide for the original LS at http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/brake/fbcaliper.html but I don't know how similar the caliper design is to the 430 calipers.

I was hoping for some tips on how to remove the piston from the caliper or anything that anyone found out while doing the job.

First thing I would try is a complete brake system fluid flush. Second is inspect the brake hoses for any leaks or swelling. Third is rebuild calipers. I have not read about or heard of anyone having to rebuild calipers to date but you may be the first one to work your way through it as these cars continue to age.
