Mystery Tape
Hi All -
While driving this morning I reached to adjust the rear view mirror on my '02 CL LS430 and felt a strip of very thin black paper like tape along the upper left hand side of the mirror approximately 1/2 x 5 inches long. Having never seen or noticed it before, I peeled it off and on the other side was what looked like metal circuit board diagramming. Whoa, replaced it but am still wondering what it controls or if it's even necessary.
Btw, could it be part of the long gone Lexus Link circuitry which was replaced w/ a remote/sunglass case above the rear view mirror after Lexus discontinued Lexus Link?
TIA for any insight

sounds like someone put one of those cheap cell phone signal boosters on the mirror. usually you put it inside the battery compartment on the phone but people who believe those things work aren't always the brightest
