Anyone miss the vehicle that the LS430 replaced?
I was cleaning out old digital pics and stumbled on my 2000 Audi A6 4.2. Man that was a gorgeous car!! In and out. Almost timeless. I Loved the wide stance and flared fenders. It handled like a go cart with the Hotchkiss sway bars I had on it. It had a nice deep European V8 growl when I got on it. Was well behaved for the 2 years I had it but then the transmission randomly failed at 85K miles, big $$ to fix. Was turned off after that and afraid of other costly repairs. Had to let it go to focus on a house purchase. 
My LS has been very reliable which is important since I now have a mortgage but I really miss the character of the Audi. I would have kept it if it was as reliable as a Lexus. No regrets, the Ls430 is a GREAT car.

Nice A6, don't see too many 4.2s running around. The regular A6s never looked that good to me, but the 4.2 with the flared wheelarches and big shiny wheels really caught my attention (I was a middle schooler dreaming about cars at the time it was in magazines).
The car I miss most is the 1995 BMW 530i with a 5 spd. That car was built like an absolute tank, little squeaks/rattles at 120k mi and very reliable. So much character too, really checked off a big 'x factor' box for me. Parents did cash for clunkers to get a Prius (I have no idea why, the 5 was soooo much better...), I upgraded to a 3 then th LS. LS is the most complete by far and is my favorite along with the E34 5.

That was a nice audi. I moved up from a sts it was fast and handled good but I couldn't keep the check engine light off. To bad just when It was almost payed off it was totaled. I look at it this way no speeding tickets with the ls cause I be cruising. But I do miss her RIP

I sometimes miss my 1989 Acura Legend. It was the first truly fine car I could afford to own and drive. So I dearly loved it and appreciated how good it was every day I drove it. And it was bulletproof until the end when it had multiple ABS related brake problems that would have cost as much to repair as the 10 year old car was worth at the time (1999) so I got rid of it.
I remember seeing and reading about the 2001 LS430 when it originally came out and thinking I would love to be able to afford one of those someday.
In 2009 I was finally able to afford a used 2006 LS430. My LS430 is a much better car than the 89 Legend in almost every way, but I don't appreciate it as much, mostly because I have grown used to driving really nice cars. Its a good problem to be lucky enough to have.
I am almost certain I will very much miss the LS430 some day when it comes time to let it go. Not sure what you do for an encore after owning an LS430.

Nice Audi, but you chose wisely. I went from two leased cars, Cadillac SRX and Lincoln MKZ, to my LS430 so I have no regrets about selling something. Of the dozens of cars I've owned, I don't have any real regrets about selling any of them as there were usually good reasons to make the changes when I did. The only car I wish I still had is my C5 vette.

I had a 2001 DTS that I really enjoyed. Fast car, nice soft ride, but when I got to 100k...

Anyway, I REALLY enjoy my "Vanilla Bean" 430. The only thing i dont like are the steering wheel controls. I ALWAYS hit then inadvertently and change the song, hit voice command, etc.

Maybe, the LS460 is nice but I'm not in love with current styling on it. I'm not picking on the 460 alone, as I really dislike styling on almost every luxury car from 2007 on (especially the BMWs look like crap). Lone exception maybe a few of the Mercedes but I don;t want that maint headache. So if my LS 430 gets totaled today, I'd immediately and without hesitation go get another 06 LS430. I am hoping the next gen LS460 may look better to me. I will have to wait a few years as I definitely buy only used cars from this point on.
