I know this is an old thread but I'd really like to do this in my car so I can gain bluetooth audio streaming, USB, and mp3 capabilities... Anyone have any updated info or can point me in a direction to get more info on replacing the cd changer with an aftermarket single din unit?

 

There isn't a whole lot of information on this yet. Only a handful of people have done it from what I've seen. I plan on putting in a single DIN Alpine into my LS sometime this spring though.

The route I plan on going is to use aftermarket speakers/subs with amps instead of the factory speakers. I talked to a friend who owns a stereo shop and he said the only issue he'd run into is that the **** on my new radio may stick out too far too keep the wooden door. I'm guessing this would be the easiest way to do it unless you want to do a double DIN setup with the Beatsonic kit.
