How many Gen4 owners have upgraded to the 10.1? I'm currently rocking 8.1 and would like to upgrade as well.

This site makes you order stuff. I just ordered the newest dvd. I probably would have been fine with version 7.1.
I am going on a road trip next week so I figured it was justified

Nope. Even if you upgrade to the latest version you'll still be stuck with those lame graphics unless you try to retrofit the navi.Originally Posted by 94LSon20
Still rocking the original version on my 01 lol anyone know what version that is? 1.0? Do these upgrades help with graphics? Is there a firmware update for my screen?

Can you still unblock your navi to be ably to use it while driving with the 10.1 ver?Originally Posted by aypues
I was hoping they would take away the "I agree" button like they had done with other models. I had a gs450h (gen 5) and when i upgraded to 9.1 they took it away. Anyway, small bummer. For my LS, my last nav disc read ver 4.2, so this was a needed update. Anyone else do theirs yet?

My 01 has Generation 2/3. I purchased it 5 months ago and found it had the original disc from new which was 1.1 I updated to 9.1 and the only difference was more updated info. It does not change anything with regards to viewing. Same system, latest info.

That's why I have given up on the in-dash navigation, in addition to the ridiculous inability to route while moving. I just use my Garmin now. The better portables are easily upgradeable, better than any in-dash nav, , and portable. At this point, I'd prefer to never have another in-dash navigation, but the nicer cars don't give you much of a choice.Originally Posted by xuserx04

So the ancient (my 2001 UL) Lexus will accept the 9.1? I hope that is the case.My 01 has Generation 2/3. I am with Carmelstev, the manufacturers should ditch the in-dash nav capabilities entirely.

I installed the Vaistech MultimediaLinQ which takes away the I agree button. Cristal clear sound from USB stick is a must have for an LS (luxury sedan). Details at http://www.vaistech.com/products/vml_products.phpOriginally Posted by aypues

I lost my override when I went from 2.1 to 7.1. The button is there and is still clickable, but after I enable it, the system locks me out of using most of the nav buttons, even when the car isn't moving. I need to turn the car off and back on to regain functionality.
Haven't tried with the 10.1 disc yet, will do that soon.
