Default strut replacement mileage

My 04 LS premium package is starting to feel sloppy during cornering. When should the struts/shocks (whatever I have) be replaced? Does it matter if they are leaking or not? My car has 110 k on it and original struts.

My rears are leaking with 75K. I was told they should be replaced somewhere around 60K

Default strut time

I understand 60-70 k is strut time whether they are leaking or not. They are like 120 for the front each and 104 for the rear each on the net.

This seems pretty pricey. How much have you guys paid, or gals, as I would think many others have had struts changed but I hear it infrequently on this site. I am starting to feel alot of potholes and body lean unlike I used to. It is getting annoying! Thanks Warm

Leaky doesn't always mean they're done but by the sounds of it they're feeling done leaky or not. I just replaced all four at 82XXX. I think the mileage for replacement will vary depending on how and where the car is driven. I ordered the OEM ones from Sewell. I was more concerned with the labour than the part cost as I found it varied a lot more. Some places claimed the rears tookway more time than they did.

I did it to pass a local safety inspection (even slight leak = fail) They felt good before but the new ones feel even better. The car rides like a dream and you'll enjoy restoring that feeling. With wheel alignment I got a wheel balancing to make sure it ran smooth as can be.

Hope it works out for you!

How much did the 4 cost? I am getting some really high labor and part prices though tirerack wants roughly 100 apiece versus 2-300 a piece for the Lexus/toyota brand.

I am getting rates like 200-250 for each axle to relace the shock/struts. How many people have had the strut/shock replaced? any more infor? Thanks
