Default Trunk lock switch

Anyone elses trunk switch get stuck all the time? I'll pop my trunk, and then when I try to close it, the little striker thing is in the way. I'll have to hold the inner release to get it to snap out of place before I can shut the trunk. GATO said his does the same thing.

Just wondering how common it is...might have to get the dealer to fix it for me.

What year is your car? I have the exact same problem. I thought I read of a tsb somewhere for this issue. When I mentioned it to the service manager at Lexus he said it was a problem with the lock assembly itself. If this is the case, are we talking mucho dollars here? Please keep us in the loop if you have any further info on this problem. It is a royal pain.

I just found this in Consumer Guide Automotive as one of the problem areas for the 2001 LS430. Here is the description. Trunk Lock: The trunk lock may relock itself after release, may require effort to open or may be hard to close requiring replacement of the stricker. Anyone know what we are talking about cost wise for the replacement of the stricker???

I've got an 04 UL. I'll take it into the dealer to see what they say. I've got a list of things I want them to check out at the same time, since I just got the car.

I think it is the latch mechanism that needs to be replaced and not the stricker. I wonder if the latch mechanism is a serperate part of the entire lock?
