Goodyear Comfortred TOURING
Anyone try the new tire out by Goodyear yet? Its called the Goodyear Assurance Comfortred Touring. It differs from the regular Comfortred and is supposed to be designed for the LS and other high end luxury cars.
I've had very good luck with Goodyear ComforTred on my A6 Audi. Put 41000 on them and still have plenty of tread left. They are quiet, long-lived and for my laid-back driving style, provide plenty of traction. Of course, I suppose the new ComforTred Touring is somewhat different.
I think Goodyear has been working on improving some of their tire lines. I have a set of Tripletreds on my Subaru. They are noisy and a bit hard, but are great in the rain and quite good in the winter. I didn't feel the need to get a set of dedicated winter tires for the car.
The new Comfortred Touring is an 80 k H speed rated tire. I had the old Assurance Comforttreds on my LS when I bought it. This was 2 1/2 years ago. Decent tire just had a wobble at around 25-35 mph that I had a hard time balancing out and read others with the same problem on Tire rack reviews. I strayed from Michelins once before and had problems with BF Goodrich.
I never have problems with Primacies, Hydroedge, Exalto and whatever I had on my 74 Volvo and spending time and trouble sorting out tire issues is not high on list. Go Michelin though I have had good luck with high end Bridgestones and would consider the V rate Serenity.
