found a car decent in price. $20k for 04 with 67k miles, ML pack, color that i want. still gotta see in person.
but carfax showed 3 previous owners already. owner #1 had it for 1.5 yrs, #2 for 4 yrs then 3rd one for only 3months. then sold in auction to this dealer.
any red flag here?

im still gonna see it and look for any cosmetic damages. if everything checks out ok, then take it to lexus dealer for full 27 point inspection.

also what r some of the maintenance that needs done at 60k?

A 3 month owner would make it a virtual automatic pass for me unless it was some kind of booking keeping deal, or title transfer deal between companies. If it was an actual owner - that's a red flag no matter what excuse they tell you on what happened - there's lots of cars out there that come up with clean CarFAX on a regular basis so be careful and patient. If the car was absolutely a perfect fit I would try hard to talk to that last owner

the short-term owner of the car could be anyone. You'll likely never find out. I was told there is some "privacy" laws regarding previous owners.

2 ways to find out however... Look in the glovebox for any papers or receipts. Particularly in the owners manual

Secondly, ask to see the title. Tell them you want to check it out personally. It could list the previous owner.

In this economy, people are loosing their jobs left and right. Thinking you are safe at work and then loosing your job can take place at any minute. So, the prior owner might be a victim on the times. Doesn't mean they were a bad owner...

Could be trouble but then again there are millions of reasons it could have been a short term owner. Take it to the dealership and let them decide if the car is worthy of your ownership. While you are at it take it to a body shop too. just my thoughts.

3-month owner was most likely a dealer who swapped it to another dealer for whatever reason (couldn't get if off the lot in time or trade for another vehicle etc..).
I personally wouldn't care how many owners as long as it had perfecrt maintenance records.

i would say call the mission viejo lexus and see if they remember the fella and have any more infor with the VIN, Tranny, fuel pump what does order to provide outstanding service mean? Is it late service?

just talked to park lexus service rep and he said this is an outstanding maint car. he said he would get it.

talked to seller(dealer) and he said, this is probably a trade in from 2nd owner to park lexus who had to transder title to sell it in auction(3month period). then this current dealer bought it from auction.
makes sense huh?
