Has anyone experienced their car's navigation system freezing up or streets disappearing?

I have not experienced that. I'm at version 8.1

I'm actually having issues with it occasionally going out and giving an "unable to access dvd" error. Not sure of the version but was told it was upgraded...

Try removing the dvd and check to see if there are scratches on the dvd.
