Adaptive Headlights - Right headlight turns less?
I've noticed for a while, not sure if its intended or a defect, that my right headlight turns a much smaller angle than my left headlight on turns. I remember reading somewhere on Lexus literature that the headlights turned 15 degrees to "either" side when taking turns. Of course after owning the LS we all know that only the headlight on the side you are turning to actually moves, but wouldn't it be nice if they could BOTH turn the same amount?

they do in fact turn at different angles. i read before where someone had researched this. either airtime or tee or someone put up the true turning angles and it was different for each. it was supposedly intended to be like this (different angles) due to the driver being on one side and what not...

The left headlamp swivels up to 15 degrees to the left on left turns, while the right headlamp swivels up to 5 degrees to the right on right turns. Per Lexus, these specific numbers were derived from studies of where drivers' eyes gaze when making such turns, and so, "act more like your natural eye". (This info from the LS430 brochure.)

Totally off track...
But seriously, the I think the "tilt" is sharper to the driver's side because the perception as you look to the passenger's side is naturally wider, so you don't need as much illumination, whereas to the driver's side, it's more narrow and the A-pillar is right there.
