I thought all UL's had climate controlled seats (heat/cool) in rear. That was wrong. 2001-2003 UL's had heated rear seats. 2004-2006 had climate controlled seats in rear.

per pricing sheet:

Went to JM Lexus today, they couldn't identify the a/c noises, but the mechanic said it might be the expansion valve, which costs around $800 to replace. I also have a knocking noise and squeak in the front left suspension, they said I have a blown right front air shock and that I need to replace both front air shocks and caster bushings, about $3000. No thanks. I'm taking it to my independent shop on Friday for a second opinion.

Now we know the real cost of the suppppper dupppper ride that the UL.s give... I was a wee bit jealous of you guys for a bit,, Not any more.. can get a lot of real massages for $3k and not have to sit in back seat of my car to get them. LOL

Might be that you are getting a bit of blow by on the drain tube from under the car.. Check the positioning of the outlet on the tube, and maybe turn it a different direction

The noise happens regardless of whether the car is in motion or not.

I went to my independent mechanic today, Eric's Wrench in Delray Beach. He added some freon to the a/c system and the noises are gone. Apparently it was a little low, there's a small leak somewhere.

Earlier today I sat in the back seat and listened to the gurgling sound, I opened the cooler box door and it was very noticeably coming from around the cool box. I'm not sure what is nearby the box but whatever was making the noise was right in that vicinity. Just glad the noise is gone now.

Ok. I'm TOTALLY confused now. I guess that's what happens when we discuss multiple noises simultaneously?

So.......Lexus said a knocking/squeaking noise in your front left suspension was a blown air shock. Now.....on your last posts you're taking your car to an independent mechanic.....and your last post said they found you low on refridgerant?..they charged it up, and now no more noise? So...one of your noises is gone or both? I would hypothesize the refridgerant made the gurgle noise from the coolbox go away. Yes? What about your front suspension squeek..or did THAT noise go away now too?

I'm not talking about the suspension noise, this thread is about the a/c noise. I just mentioned on a sidenote about the shocks. FYI the independent shop did show me that the front right and rear right air shocks are leaking oil and should be replaced soon, along with a front right camber bushing. The suspension noise from the front left could not be identified. Ugh.

To conclude, adding freon got rid of both the gurgling sound from the rear cool box area and the whistling sound from the dash/firewall area.

My first thought is that if you ever hear a gurgling sound coming from the back seat, don't turn around, and get the hell out of your car right now.
