Default chrome strip

what up fellas, i went to look at 2 ls430's today one a 2003 the other a 2004 , on both the chrome strip around the car was dull and faded and the chrome coating had worn through in a few places down to the plastic. is this normal or common ? how hard is it to replace and how much ?

im a perfectionist when it comes to cars and have never bought a used one before...im looking for a 2004-06 flint gray or silver or black model with black int..if anyone knows of one please let me know thanks

There was a DIY i recently saw on CL on how to re-polish it to brand new condition. Very easy process to solve the fading issue, I just cant find it for some reason.

Pep Boys sells the chrome strip. They have a variety of sizes and this is what we used for the GS, it worked perfectly.
