I measured the OUTER tail light assemblies of both my '01 and '06 and they are the same dimensions, so they should swap easily. Note, a word of caution: if you replace the outer tail light assemblies on your '01 - '03 with the LED lights '04 - '06 version, the inner tail light assembly (on the rear of the trunk lid) do not interchange - they are different sizes on the '01- '03 model vs. the '04 - '06 model. You would still have regular bulbs on the inner tail light assembly (and different lenses) with LEDs on the outer tail light assembly. The light emitted from the two different types of lights (LEDs and bulbs side-by-side, and with different lenses) could be noticeable.

 

wow i cant believe you need to replace the entire assembly, expensive for what it is.
