I am emailing you regarding the 2002 Lexus LS430 that I have for sale on Craigslist..
The vehicle looks and works perfect. As you see it has a lot of options. No hidden problems and never involved in any kind of accidents..
Since the car was listed on eBay.com I prefer closing the transaction trough their system because we are both protected. If you don't know how does the eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection Program work please let me know so I can help you. I used it several times (as a seller but as well as a buyer) and everything was perfect.
The vehicle was inspected by eBay. As well, shipping & handling fees are included in the final price ($6000)..
If you are interested please let me know your shipping details so I can open a transaction case.
The car looks and works perfectly. I got it after my recent divorce and I want to sell it fast, that's all. However you will have 3 days to inspect it before you take a decision.

I will send the transaction details to eBay. They will contact you with a invoice regarding our transaction. Please note that you will have to send them only a down payment, money that will be kept by them until you receive the car. About shipping ..... I can tell you exactly when you will receive it after I get it shipped. I will do that the same day eBay confirms the down payment. As well I will forward you the shipping documents.

Please let me know when you receive the eBay email and when do you think you can transfer them the down payment.

Do you guys think it is scam or what? Will Ebay protection program really work in this case?

I at first wasnt going to come on this site an alert you guys as to what just happened here locally because I felt we are to savvy to fall for this scam but, I said what the hay.

A local young lady in the Norfolk/Va Beach,Va area was scammed out of over $9,000 dollars. She had saw a car on Craig's list(thru a fake ebay account) as well and the details were similar to what this guy was offered except the seller was overseas in the military.

The story can be found at this site www.wvec.com and its a story from today 5/7/2008. Check it out, to many details to type. Please nobody fall for deals that are to good to be true.$10,000 for a hybrid truck like this lady was scammed out of is just a dream, thats the only way you get a hybrid for that much is in a dream.

These scams are more and more misleading and the economy has led to smart people making quick decisions that they normally wouldnt. Be careful guys. If it sounds to good to be true, it is!!!!!!

That is SO WEIRD! I too live in the Hampton Roads area and saw a2005 Maxima w 23,601 miles for $5200!!!

So, I e-mailed the lady ans asked why she was selling so cheap. She said she needed the money fast! She also said that there are a lot of people wanting the car and to act now if I want it! She also said the same thing about using eBay and all that. I said, I'll pass! Now that deal was TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!!

Lol I just didn't check back with this thread, I realized that it's scam once I asked her "Can I come locally and take a look at it" she refused so I said F off to her. Lol

Glad to hear back from you and you didn't send a suitcase full of cash

That's pretty much the giveaway when they don't want you to see the car they're selling. Umm yeah, makes a lot of sense

Haha, it would suck if I did. I'm actually careful person, and I sent email to eBay motors regarding this car, they said it's BS and scam. I just don't see me doing such big mistake, I would check all possible things before doing that lol. I'm not one of those who will send money right away

Yes, these scams are showing up on craigs list now... I have to admit I was attracted to a recent ad in the Grand Rapids Craigs list area showing a Pristine red SC400 priced well below book.. I told the guy if it looks like the picture, I will give you cash plus a couple grand for your trouble when I pick it up and he still wanted to go through a third party like PAY PAL... He then followed with the Military story, blah blah blah..

We exchanged some choice words and I sent him on his way..
