Take the wheel off, take the fender well off then the rest from the bottom. Make sure to noted where all the pieces fit in where the bolts attach the front bumper and the fender. Take your time, take plenty of picture if needed.

VQT,

Thanks I figured it was gonna end up being like this so I will do what you suggested and take alot of pictures but its just too damn cold right now to do this the way I want. So i'll wait till spring decides to make an appearance. When I do this I will update this post with all the pictures and a How-To so it may help someone else down the line. Now it makes total sense why the dealer wants 2 hours labour to change foglight bulbs.

Great shots! The car looks great!

TRC - The 04 LS uses a 9006 bulb for the fog lights meaning that you would need to get a 9006 HID Conversion kit. HID conversion kits are available in various colour temperatures. When it comes to colour temperature, the higher you go in terms of colour temperature the more colour you obtain however the less actual useable light output you emit. To best match your OEM HID low beams, I would suggest going with a 9006 5000k HID conversion kit:

http://www.kbcarstuff.com/9006_HB4_5...xt-5k-9006.htm

Some people have also gone the 3000k route in their HID fog lights. 3000k will get you a yellow output which is ideal in fog situations:

here is the link to the 9006 3000k HID conversion kit:

http://www.kbcarstuff.com/9006_HB4_3...xt-3k-9006.htm

Our Xtreme HID conversion kits use ballasts that are specifically designed for aftermarket HID conversion kits. The ballats are epoxy sealed to ensure that they are water tight - ideal for fog light upgrades. The bulbs and ballasts are both made in Japan to ensure both the quality and durability of the product.
Our kits will also come with a wiring harness that will power the ballasts directly from the battery as opposed to the OEM foglight/headlight wiring. This will ensure that the ballasts get a constant 12V. It will also ensure that you do not damage your vehicle's OE wiring as it is not designed to carry the load thats required by HIDs upon start up.

Hope this helps,

Steve

Steve,

That's a great price on the HID 9006 Kit. If someone is thinking about doing the upgrade on their fogs then this price is perfect.

XVJ,

Amazing pictures.. Just sent them to my wife so she knows what I want to do to my LS.. Can't wait to hear what she says.. LOL
Do you have any tips on installing the HID kit for the fogs.. What items underneth to take off to gain easier access to the fogs??
Still too cold here to do my install but any tips would be most appreciated!!

Ken

I was going to install mine this Sunday but got lazy because I wanna convert my headlight to 8000K too.

Similar like my GS set up.

I still have one set of 9006 HID in 3000K yellow, anyone want it.

There is another HID supplier on ebay that cost $68.98 for 9006 HID kit. The wiring is not as long as the one shown here and only uses one ballas. I installed the 9006 to my Honda Odyssey headlight and like it so I bought another one for the LS430 fog lights.

seller lighting623 and his Ebay item # 130173661291

To install the HID fog light you need to take the bottom skirt out first to get to the fender well skirt. Need to take the front wheel off to get access to the fender well skirt. No need to take the whole fender well skirt out, just the front half so you can pull it out of the way (there is a nut way on top need to take out and only access from the bottom make sure to take that out before yanking the fender skirt, don't ask me how I know). No matter how careful I was, I mess up the plastic clips that hold the two plastic pieces that have a slit for the screw diver to turn 90 degree to unlock it (you'll know it when you start working on this). There isn't much space behind the fog light especially the driver side so I taped the ballas on top of the fog light housing

Try to schedule at least 6 hours so you can figure out the best way to take the fender skirt out with minimum damage (I was in a hurry so I did not do what I preach) and the best way to install the ballas.

No, I did not take any pictures and I am not savy enought to post pictures anyways

i'm thinking of doing the hid fog conversion... i'd like the fogs to at least match the color of the stock hids... is this all i need?

http://www.tunersdepot.com/Lighting/...7.html?yy=2005

- 9006
- slim ballast
- 6000k (will this be whiter than stock headlights?)
- 35w

wondering why the website has other bulb types for the ls430... i thought that 9006 would be the only one that fits...

anyone have detailed pics of installation?

Hi,

9006 would be the correct kit.

From a quality standpoint, the ballasts and bulbs used in our Volt kit are superior to the ones shown in the picture. Furthermore, with the CL coupon code you get the Volt kit for $94.99 for a limited time.
