if you put a Toyota emblem on the front, you should at least put celsior on the back

that is the dumbest ****** ever....why would you want to down grade what people think about your car? That is a mistake that you will make and think back on later wondering why you did it.

Very similar to how you look at a picture and think, what the heck was I doing wearing that?

He wants to change it because the Lexus LS430 here in the states is also the Toyota Celsior in Japan. Just because you change the emblems on the car doesnt mean its been downgraded.

I'm aware of how the car is badged over seas. Or I should say WAS badged overseas now that the "Lexus" brand has made its way there.

He didn't buy a Celsior though, he bought an LS430. No the car has not been downgraded, but in the mind of others it will be. That is exactly the reason why Toyota badges their luxary line with "Lexus".

Changing the badge would be like buying a pair of Tommy Hillfigure jeans and taking the label off. Part of what you are paying for is the "name" and branding that the company has done. It just doesn't make sense, no matter how "VIP" it is.
