Default Service Update: 02-06 ULs

I recently brought my car into the local Toyota dealership to diagnose a noise I was hearing under the front suspension when I drove over rough roads. They couldn't find anything BUT they noticed that my front shocks were leaking slightly. Because my car is still under warranty, I called Lexus of San Antonio to get further information. They informed me that when the ULs get around 75k they start to develop this problem. They ARE covered under warranty!

If you still have warranty remaining on your car you should take it in and have them checked ASAP!. If you don't have them changed out under warranty, you will end up dropping almost $2000 PER SHOCK out of pocket!

Interesting info IronCobra. I just brought my '02 with 66K into my dealer for an oil change, steering wheel noise fix and noise from the driver front end and they called me up to notify that my front strut was leaking and would be replaced under warranty. If I had to face a 2K invoice ++ when I picked up the car, I would have dropped dead.
Great info on this forum.

02-06 UL's use a different front strut than the 01 UL's?

IronCobra, What kind of noise was this? I experience serious road feel and noise when I am going over rough road but I have ordered a new set of tires to remedy that. I am now a bit afraid I hope that the air sus doesnt act up on me becasue a 2k per strut bil would make me drop dead too.

The noise I'm hearing is more of a mechanical noise. My tire noise isn't too bad given the fact I am running 19s with a low offset.

My noise sounds more like a bolt might be loose on something in my front suspension. They didn't find anything wrong at the Toyota dealership, but when Lexus picks the car up Wed. hopefully they will fix whatever it is. It really has no effect on the cars drivability at all. Actually it is barely audible. It's just a bit irritating.

interesting ... i had the same problems when i had my 20s on my ride ... but the noise went away as soon as i slapped on my stock 18s ..... i dont think it was the suspension ... i think it was the rims .....but damn i wish i still had the warranty.... lucky guy .. hahah
