Cost to own
I'm ready to get this 03 LS430 from Fletcher. I'm concerned about cost to own--maintenance and insurance costs. My soon to be traded-in car is an 03 G35. My maintenance cost is about $150/yr and insurance of $600/6months.
Thanks.
Thanks.
should be able to contact your ins agent for the $$ adjustment on the car,,
as for actual onwership, if ya do the oil and other filters yourself would think the cost would be below the $150,, I do my own service and twice a year oil/filter and cabin filter,, if ya take it to a dealer will be well over the $150,,
you did not indicate the miles on the car so one of the higher mile service calls will be several hundred dollars,,

Thanks CG. The one I'm looking at has 76k miles. Also how does one know if it is an Ultra model? Noob questions.
My carrier CUNA is asking more--around $750/6mos. I ask to know what everybody is paying.

don't know what all was offerd in the 03 Ultras but mine has upgraded leather and ultra seude overhead,, seperate rear air conditioner controls on the rear center consol as well as rear seats that massage and are adjustable,, also a chiller in between the rear seats where the arm rest folds out,, has 18" wheels,, all seats are heat & cooled with their own control,, Mark Levenston radio,, sport control switch as well as snow and height control switch,, would have the nav station also,, probably more but those are my wuick thoughts,,
think you can try KBB and they also indicate what is in the Ultra package,,

The insurance on my 03 LS430, and Ford Excursion, runs under $900 per year.
The LS has 48,000 miles and is about due for brakes. Up untill now it has only required Oil and Filter (oil, induction, and AC) changes, new wiper blades, and wax.
I'll have the cooling, transmission, and brake fluids changed this year too.
It's hard to believe you get by on $150 yr on a G35. I've heard they eat brakes like popcorn.

I'm with progressive. I just paid my renewal last week $431 for 6 months, on both the Lexus and Excursion. It dropped another $35 from the previous renewal. No tickets or accidents other than a DWI about 4 1/2 years ago. I changed to Progressive about 1 month after the DWI and my premium with Progressive actually started about $100 lower than my previous policy was before the DWI. I don't recall exactly where I started, ($12-1300 rings a bell) but it came down substancially 3 years after the DWI. BTW all they have is my Auto, so I just get a multicar discount.
