Default LS430 Audio (Phase 1 & 2 of 3)

Here you go . . . phase 1 is virtually complete. Phases 2 & 3 will cover the subwoofers and door components. All in all, I'm happy with the result. Feel free to chime in . . .

Believe it or not, but that custom kit incorporates a portion of the factory radio after being air sawed, then we added some wood, fiberglass, primer, and vinyl dye to compliment the interior color scheme. To keep the navigation running properly, we removed the motherboard from the radio and still have it operating inside the dash.

I placed an Alpine PDX 4150 (4 x 150w RMS) amplifier on the mark levinson highs & mids . . . it is amazing. I'm sure I'll change them out, but at this point, they're really not a high priority (phase 3). Phase 2 will consist of one or two Alpine 12" X type subwoofers powered by the other PDX amp (1 x 1000).

And BTW, the video Ipod is connected to the alpine and the cable is hidden beneath the custom insert that was placed inside the tray.

Enjoy!

Very nice. Where'd you get (or how'd you make) that bezel for the screen?

It's a completely custom piece that involved cutting up the old radio bezel, adding some wood, plastic, fiberglass, and bondo (to cover the **** holes), then finally shot it with some primer, and vinyl dyed it (similar to paint).

Mad props go out to JP at Car Stereo Warehouse in Lexington, KY.

I didn't do the work, but I am positive that the speaker wires were tapped from the rear amplifier . . . I saw them working on it and I suppose they used a tone generator to find which ones were for each location . . .

On another note, we are in the first stages of designing the subwoofer system. Highlights include 2 12" Alpine X subs with another pdx 1.1000 amp (possible one on each sub, but right now, we're trying one). The enclosure will be sealed off from the rest of the truck and port through the pass thru area. Beneath the enclosure will be the amplifiers and the lexus tool kit displayed on a custom, motorized rack connected to the alarm system. Should be starting within a few weeks

Beautiful install. Any ideas on hooking up an ipod to the factory unit?

It's def a clean install, and probably sounds even better. May I ask why you're using the Type-X subwoofers though?

I chose the type X subs . . . well, because it will be an all alpine setup and I tend to use equipment that not many people (locally) typically use . . . I'm not a basshead by any means, but I like to know I have a little power back there should I want to demo the setup

Jesus . . . anyone know the winning lotto numbers for this weekend? Daddy needs some cash flow! If all goes well, I should be moving on to phase 2 within a few weeks. I was gunning for this week, but my custom leather work (reworking the front and rear seats) went a bit over budget.

JP . . . I'll probably come by soon to pay for the equipment to relieve inventory
