Default XM radio

My mother in-law has a LS430 with the ML sound system as well as the NAV. She wants to get XM radio, which the car is supposed to have. I tried to turn it on to get the radio serial number so I could log on to XM.com and get her set up, but now matter what I did the XM side of the radio would not come on. Any ideas?

What year is the LS and does it say XM on the unit? Are you certain there is XM in it?

It is an '05 and no it does not say anything about XM on the radio face. I am thinking that it does not have a XM radio in it, but I don't know.

If you are pressing the AM/SAT button on the radio and nothing is happening, you likely don't have it. Was this car purchased new? Do you still have the sticker? It would be on there. They are all wired for XM but the actual satellite unit has to be installed and you should have that little mouse shaped antenna somewhere on the vehicle. It can be added, however, at the usual outrageous Lexus price. Good luck!

Found the sticker and it is only XM prep'd. I will search the forums for a price on the module and go from there. Thanks folks!
