Default Change A/C Filter

Well, last week I posted about what needs to be done at 30K Miles on my '04 LS. I am at 27K now. It appears that the A/C filter, however, isn't gonna make it. I am getting the red triangle and the "CHANGE A/C FILTER" message. Can this wait 3000 miles? And/or can I do it myself? I seem to recall that somewhere I read this was an easy do-it-yourself thing.

YAY STEELERS! I knew there was a good reason I remain here in Pittsburgh. One for the thumb!

May I recommend you review your owners manual on how to remove the filter. Remove it, vacuum and inspect it for tears or damage. They may be gently cleaned with a soft bursh if necessary and air dryed.. Reinstall and reset the indicator lamp, also in the manual.
Mine is in the glove box and is simple to get in and out with the aid of a flashlight. Replacements are reasonable with many online websites. It's also refered to as an "ACC" filter, A/C Cabin filter.

Well, make sure you have the key in the ON position (engine not operating) and press the AC OFF button for a few seconds (i forgot if there was another button to press at the same time)... that should clear the warning.

Try it out.

Thanks guys! I vacuumed the filter with a shop vac yesterday and reinstalled it and reset the sensor. Seems fine now. When I go in for the 30K service in a few months I'll have it changed. It's good enough until then I believe.
