Navigation Conversion
Hey guys, my father has a 2001 LS430 with Ultra Luxury package... although, we live in Canada and unfortunatley its not available with navigation in Canada until the 2003 models. Ive found a navigation unit with trim and all but ive asked around and ive been told that its not possible to do a conversion. If u guys have any other information it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello There,
The people you have talked to are correct. It would be extremely difficult and labour intensive to do this task. I would probably tell your father to trade in his 2001MY LS430 for a more current version with NAVI in it. I am pretty sure that there are pre-owned Lexuses with NAVI in it. I would recommend the new IS250/350 with the GEN5 NAVI. Or better yet, wait for the new 2007MY LS460 to come out this summer. I believe that it has a new GEN5 NAVI with a 30GB HDD (hard disc drive). You would be able to burn of rip many music files.
