Default 2006 Ls430

Thought that i would share this with you all, are you all aware the new 2006 LS430 has only 278hp vs. it's last year 290hp....What the hell happen to 12 ponies. However according to Lexus it's the same performace if not better improvement , more torque coming from the same 4.3 Liter motor.

My dad has a 03LS 430 with 290hp he was ready to trade his for the Custom Premium 06 LS430. tonight, That's when i found out about the Hp loss....

That's actually old news

There's no hp loss for the 2006 at all. Lexus has adopted the stricter new SAE standard for measuring hp which results in the lower rating, but the hp/torque of the 2006 LS430 are exactly the same as the 2001-05 LS430.

The vast majority of the other manufacturers are still using the old SAE standard.

The 2006 LS430 will actually be a little faster than your dad's 03 LS430 because it has a six speed auto transmission instead of the five speed auto of the pre-2004 models.

I noticed that when I was at the dealer yesterday looking at the new RX400H or whatever the initials are. I looked at the sticker on a new LS430 and was surprised to see the drop in horsepower. It would definitely be the wrong way to go. Not sure why they adopted the new standard as folks won't know when comparing cars unless they were really well informed. Come on, I want more HP. Zero to sixty in 4.9 would be a good beginning point for me. And damn Lexus, get a body style!

Congrats for the 06 LS430 & G35 coupe Both great cars The LS can give the G35c a run for money if the G is an automatic or if you're not an excellent manual driver

Thanks, indeed my fathers Ls can definetly give me a good run against my G35 coupe, but for some reason my G feels faster. Plus it's a 6speed manual. But one thing for sure compare to my dad's last 03 Ls vs the new 06 LS handles much better & it feels more smooth . Speaking of my G35 by December i am dropping Greddy Turbo.
