Default Customizing electical functions on LS430

Is there a way that an individual (non Lexus dealer) can access the customization features on an LS430? Is it essential to have the diagnostic tester kit and program card, or is there a way to trigger the customization mode through the OBD port?

The dealer will do it for free on your next service. Why try doing it yourself?

I thought they charged for that? Anyway, I'd like to play with some of the settings to see which I like best. I do my own service, repair, maintenance, engine building, etc., but I suppose I could take it in for the reprogramming if I have to....

yeah I do not do ANYTHING myself. I take both Lexus in every 5k miles and we put 15k each a year. So they spoil me rotten. Anything I want gets taken care of.

If I did the work myself I would ask the same questions your asking...
