Say a lady with 22"s on her LS...ya it did look a bit 4x4 ish...BUT DAMN! 22"s on a LS...
heard that you would need custom upper control arms (or what ever you call them) to be able to have 22"s and a drop.
I have 27.7" tall tires (245/45/19) on the front and they are about the maximum that you can run and still have the tire remain clear of the upper ball joint stud and nut (not rub). You could *possibly* run another .4" or so of tire diameter without modifying anything, and then you could pick up another .25" or so by shaving a safe amount of material off the end of the ball joint stud and nut. So, bottom line is, 28.25" is probably the maximum diameter that you could run without *serious* modifications (it'd have to be more than upper arms).
