VQT, welcome to las vegas, dude! I am used to the price already, so as long as it is under $2.00, I am happy!
I use premium fuel as suggested but am always tempted to move to the midgrade. What do you use? Any impact on performance, longevity, mileage per gallon? Anty specific brands that you prefer?
I tend to use Mobil Premium these days. More as a station choice since the local Shell and Speedway allows smokers in their stores and it really irritates me to walk inside to pay with cigarette smoke floating all over the place. Usually pick up a coffee and hate the smell of the tobacco on the cups when I used to use those stations. Still pay cash for fuel everyday but am tempted to try that quickpass key fob that Mobil has now. I've used midrange before in my other "premium-required" autos with no specific impacts but I don't push performance hard with my LS.
Now, I'll be buying a weekend sports car in the near future, son is really pushing Dad to get a C6 Vette, so maybe fuel preference will more important then.

you can always put in regular gas if you want. the computer will just retard itself to avoid any potential pinging when you run the car
but the price difference are so minimal, just don't do it

Try to be more positive.... you'll probably live longer lol.
Great question Russ. I use only premium, 91 octane here in CA but I was interested if someone used cheaper and if it hurt the car at all. I would fear pinging and damaging the valves in the long run, but what I DON'T know about cars will fill many books.
Hey, the map upgrade worked for me but I was unable to copy as the dual layer DVD copier are not up to speed yet. Won't be long before I can try again once consumer hardware is improved for the dual layer copy machines.
And I agree diesel11, what has that guy got stuck in his rear? Smile, be happy!
