about cutting the taillights like that for the 2gs, you have to be careful. it depends on how the taillights are constructed.
the 98-00 gs taillights, yes you can just bake or boil the lens and pry it open, and then you can take out the amber piece easy. however for the 01-05 taillights, the amber piece is molded together with the red piece. it's a one piece thing, so there is no way you can take it out. that's why 01+ taillights are out of luck, unless you pay over 1200 for junction produce ones.
so it depend son how the ls430 taillights are made. even if they are separate piece, i can guarantee it's never easy to pry open the taillight aseembly. it's put on very very tight

Hey I sent a PM to "gewe21 " the owner of that immaculate silver LS430 with the clear tail lights. Here is what he said below. Maybe we can get a group buy going to get the lights from "GS4Will" for a good price?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought them from a fellow ClubLexus member GS4Will. The price quoted was very similar to website price of Fabulous Japan, I don't remember exactly. It was either $600 or $700, with around 1 month of turnaround time.
A couple words: fit and finish is good. The white part of the turn signal is not bright white, but rather it has a slight amber tint to match the "trunk" portion of your taillights. That price is only for the outer part of your taillights, the trunk section is unchanged / stock.
You can have them all in bright white like '04 model by purchasing Veilside instead of Fabulous, but $1400 for taillights ? Just sound plain stupid too me. BUt again, it's just me. Hope this helps.

this post is hilarious because its a very elaborate way of saying what I and others already said. they dont fit. furthermore there is something about the led lights that make it incompatible with pre 2004 cars.

Hello,
I posted the used parts web site incorrectly try( www.car-part.com) Then type in 2002 Lexus LS430 rear tail light . Check it out ?
I was looking at my tail light today and I don't know if that surgery will work "opening the light and removing the amber part".
Thanks Mike
