Why do I feel the road so much through my steering wheel?
Bit of a weird issue, but my car isn't very "isolated" from the road, in that every bump, crack, or change in the pavement is something I feel going up through the steering rack and wheel. My wheel also has a bit of play in it, but besides changing out toe links, I can't think of what else I could do to rectify this or what could be causing it. For context, my entire front end suspension has been rebuilt at this point, with two key things being that my upper control arms are mevotech supremes with firmer bushings than factory and my left lower control arm bushing is a solid rubber piece. The car handles great, but I am not used to feeling the road this much, especially in a luxury car that should be very well isolated from road NVH.
It could be a variety of things…
Tires
Tie rods
Rack bushings
Sorry to say, but Mevotech is not a quality choice for your car.
If you used all aftermarket parts in the front end rebuild you may be in worse shape than before you started.
