Installed new front air struts - trouble inflating
Neighbor is ASE Master Tech and has done some work on my 2004 LS430UL over time. Competent tech though he sometimes has to study procedures for specific issues when he works on my car. He installed new front air struts. Did passenger side first. Strut inflated fine. Did Driver’s side and it would not inflate. Drove the car half a block to my house to put in garage while deciding next steps. Passenger side lowered to match Driver’s side.
The obvious is to check for air leaks, particularly at the air connection at the Driver’s side strut.
Anything else I should do/check before I take it in? I thought I read something about this being a known issue somewhere but can’t find it.
thanks, all!

Also check the front distribution block as sometimes those leak.
Why did you fit new struts?
If the old ones had dropped, I would suspect that front distribution block is leaking.
I replaced mine because the right strut was no longer damping.

There are so many possible causes, but if both sides are deflating then either both struts are defective, or the distribution block is leaking, or he didn't fit the air lines that go to the struts correctly.
I’m betting on an issue with the air line connection on the driver’s side since the passenger side inflated after installation. It’s at a shop waiting to be evaluated. I’ll let everyone know when I hear.
