I sold my 06 UL to my father in law in 2011… and helped him find another LS. We found a white 05 ML with 49k miles in perfect shape. As of last week, he still owned both. Both garage kept, and the 05 had about 900 more miles from when he bought it. Last month, he spent about $7k doing every service that should have been done in the past 14 years… replacing every belt, hoses, fluids, brakes, tires, fuel system, timing belt, etc.
Now it is mine! And it drives almost as well as my UL did… but that is an unfair comparison.
I’m happy to be back, and I already learned about resetting the volume control on the steering wheel.
Holy shikes, and you rolled back in high fashion to make us all jealous! This is a Bring a Trailer car that never made it to national attention. Nice job! Perfect color and wheels combo.
I also think that this LS is BAT-worthy, and I admit that I do struggle with the fact that if I put an additional 50k miles on it in the next few years, I might “lose” five-figures in current market value.
But I value the legendary Lexus reliability and comfort over pretty much any newer car on the market today. I have had an RX, GS, LX, ES, and of course the LS before.
I am a huge fan of the reliability and economy of Toyota’s hybrid system… my wife has a ‘21 UX250h (surprising comfortable) and my high school senior son enjoys “his” 2015 CT200h, but ever since I passed my 06 UL to my mother-in-law, it has been in my mind to get back in a 430… even with the increased expense of premium fuel and 1/2 of the miles per gallon of the hybrids.
HAH! I had those exact thoughts go through my head. I just mentioned in another thread that 2 of my dream CL editions have come up on BaT in the past couple years and I passed on trying to get them. Part of my thought process in my head was, "Ok, are you going to use it the same way you use yours now, or are you going to turn it into a Ferrari and just look at it while you drive something else?!" I bought mine to put miles on.
