LS430 brake pad replacement is almost idiot proof. I say almost, as we've all heard the horror story of someone installing pads backward.
Auto forums and YouTube are wonderful learning resources, but they are also a double-edged sword. We've all seen someone get in over their head because someone online made it look easy.
Draining oil and/or transmission fluid is a very easy task until you strip the pan threads because you've never turned a wrench before.
ClubLexus is blessed with a very robust and knowledgeable member base. A small part of that base do not own tools and have zero plans of doing their own maintenance.

Like I said, brake pad replacement on a 430 is VERY easy compared to some other vehicles.
The OP mentioned rotor replacement so a torque wrench and TTY bolts just entered the chat. Also, replacing fluid, so factor in proper bleeding...
All very easy IF you know what you're doing.

im glad i learned the basics of wrenching on a 240sx shell as a teen. Learning what tools to use and the importance of the right tools for the job, torque specs, how much force to use on different materials, how and when to apply heat etc etc. If you understand those basics and is not your first time picking up a wrench then it's pretty straight forward. But i understand how it can be intimidating or challenging for someone who is starting from scratch.

Side note: these forums are probably the most invaluable tool to learn from.. its sad to see them fading away. I hope they can make a comeback as these cars age and seem to be recently growing in popularity.

I ended up doing the brakes myself. I used original Lexus pads and rotors. I also flushed the brake fluid and used grease on the shims and slide pins.

sounds like you did a bang up job...thorough and used oem equipment. Let us know how they feel after some miles

My lexus dealer in SW florida, said about 700.00, but my brake sensor activated, Thats an extra 180.00 ,They dont use aftermarket parts, Can get a aftermarket brake sensor for 20.00

You can get brake wear sensors at rock auto for dirt cheap. One of the few items that is not worth it to pay more for original Lexus.
