The country of origin of a lot of what we used to think were go-to bearings are now made in China, India, etc., regardless of brand. Some examples:

The first link above is what I think as well. Regardless of where the bearing was made, if it's name brand like SFK, ***, BCN, NTN, Koyo, etc. it probably has decent service life.

While I partially agree that the brand name is often more important than where a part is made, China has special problems, especially with metal. Mostly it's dealing with quality control and quality issues stemming from "cheating" which is common in Chinese manufacturing. This "cheating" happens on all levels, so a bearing may be properly made to the correct tolerances if a company employs strict on-site quality control like Apple does (iPhones are made in China), however the metal sourced for the bearing may have metallurgical issues in the alloy composition, or impurities, or a number of other issues. In China you really need to know your suppliers (by this I mean personally) and/or lock down your supply chain like Apple does.

When I mention "cheating" in Chinese practices, what I'm talking about is if a recipe for metal or concrete or anything really, calls for say three different parts in different quantities, a boss may decide to slightly alter the quantities if one part is substantially cheaper than the other two, and pocket the difference. Or they may completely substitute the prescribed ingredient with an inferior (cheaper) one, and pocket the difference. The result is a product that looks, measures and feels like the correct part, and will operate like the correct part, for a while anyways. But due to issues in the metal it will wear faster, or will fail to tolerate the maximum stress it was designed for, or any number of other problems. This is how they end up with the "Tofu bridges" that have been in the news recently as well as "Tofu concrete" used in new construction where the buildings literally fall apart or topple over. This doesn't happen everywhere with everything in China, but it's common enough that for important parts like bearings, in my opinion it's best to steer clear of any Chinese made bearings regardless of the company, unless you really, really trust that the company has been extremely diligent in their move to Chinese manufacturing.

That's the exact one I got about six months ago, unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of it, but the bearing was stamped KOYO and JAPAN same as in that stock photo.
