Had a rear air strut rupture. Seeing that Lexus OEM were $1600-$1800 each I began researching alternatives. A friend who is a used car dealer pointed me to Autopart_premium on eBay. He has ordered a lot of parts over several years from them. He said they are high quality Chinese made parts and that everything he has ordered from them is at least good quality and that they are very easy to communicate with. 99.7% positive ratings.

I ordered a pair of rear air struts for $370. Represented to be equivalent to oem standards. 1 year warranty.

A friend who is a Lexus Master Tech looked at them and said they appear to be the same externally as oem and suggested they appeared to be good quality and were worth a shot. He installed them for me and I am very pleased with them initially. The adjustable ride height works. I think there is a difference in the sport and normal modes but it is hard to tell - was always a subtle difference anyway.

Time will tell…….

 

See how they hold up... ebay ratings are suspect if only because no long-term feedback. I have seen reviews for similar where 6 months later, no go...if labor is cheap/free it might be worth the risk, but that is not case for me. As a 2005 ultra owner, I wish you luck.
