Not all that long ago, I found out there is a lockable safe in the backseat, accessed by pulling down the arm rest in the backseat. I'm so intrigued! What is the purpose? What is everyone else keeping in their trunk safe?

 

The door provides a passthrough from th passenger compartment to the trunk. I believe the original intention was for skis or other long items. I have used it a few times, mainly for long items like lumber or metal rods. It comes in very handy when you need it.

Mine is the UL with the cooler and had much rather had the pass through.
