bought car in March 2021 and was sure sub would be bad
bought sub from bell lexus in may 2021 for $467.48 as they said at time last one
had sub replaced, do you know that the back seat has to come out much labor $120
also did both front door speakers, those were about $150 each and $60 each to install.
sounded fine before and great now, door speakers had more damage than sub did

Is there not already a pair of wires (presumably thick) running from the battery to the ML amp?
Theres obviously a power wire running to the factory amp, it’s nowhere new the size to run the amperage (?) to a new amp putting out 500w rms that will be required to push that 15” sub, let alone two amps in series. The factory system is only like 200w and you can bet that’s peak numbers.

Cool story bro, I sold all my working factory speakers (just after I put new foam surround on the sub) for $25.

You don’t have to take the back seat out you can slice the carpet on the rear deck and take the sub out I’ve seen. And yeah I’m going to run a power wire directly from the battery to power the amp for the sub.
How would your subwoofer amplifier be powered? I assume you’d add breakouts to run the power wires from the ML amplifier to the new amplifier, thus wiring the two amplifiers in parallel?
No I’m going to run a power wire from the battery back to the amp. I’m going to run the pre existing sub wires to the LOC and run RCA to the amp powering the sub. The LOC (Line Output Converter) you need one unless your changing head unit too. Anyways the LOC takes the input signal it receives from the stock wires and it then outputs that signal to the new amp and sub.
