Tackling little nagging things on my friend's new 2002. Windshield washer inop is one. I thought it was the motor because I'd pull the stalk and get wipe but no spray. This is because most of my vehicles are pull to wash. But I figured out on the LS there's supposed to be a button on the end of the wiper stalk which is missing.
Fortunately the 2002 that showed up at my local Pull-A-Part had one so I snagged the whole switch. But its light control stalk is kind of grody (yeah I said that I'm an aging gen-Xer).
Can I undo the screws in the back panel and swap just the wiper control stalk over to the multi-function switch that's currently in the car?
FYI they are swappable. That back cover comes off then there's a circuit board held on by one screw. Pull it up and you can unplug the two plugs to the stalk itself and it's held in by two screws. Use caution removing because there's a spring loaded detent plunger you'll need to not lose and align with its cam on install.
I initially installed the whole junkyard unit and had every function except telescope for the wheel. That's what made me undertake the swap but once I got the swapped original back in I still have no telescope so that issue lies elsewhere.
