Default Rear shock replacement

Recently, I've noticed when going over potholes or bumps on the road a harshness from the rear passenger side suspension. Upon inspection I found both rear shocks to be leaking. I am considering KYB shocks. Any other recommendations. Should I also replace the strut mounts, bellows, and/or any other components while I'm at it. The ls430 currently has 107,000 miles.

if you can afford it, buy OEM. Nothing out there will last longer or ride better for the money. The KYB replacement stuff usually lasts about a year or 2 before needing replacement again, this is my direct experience. They are cheaper for a reason

I have the non-OEM KYBs and haven't had any issues in the rear. For the front, I tried the non-OEM KYBs and they failed in less than a year. With what's involved in the rear replacement, I'd probably just get the OEM KYBs and be done with it.

Compare your prices with Bell Lexus and PartSouq and there is a great how-to for the rears if you're so inclined.

There are no OEM shocks and struts. Beleive me. Toyota (Lexus) doesnt make ANY shocks or struts. Even if they did, the price they sell them for is ridiculous. I have used Monroe on my cars for over 20 years. Great product that lasts. That is my 2 cents.

KYB is the OEM supplier for the LS430/Celsior. The OEM KYBs have different valving than the GR-2 non-OEM KYBs, so the ride quality is different between the two applications.

I don't understand this comment. I recently had my rear struts and mounts replaced (they were leaking), and I sourced new Lexus parts. They were expensive but for such a great car, after 19 years of service and looking toward 19 more, they were an absolutely justifiable expense.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and go with original Lexus struts. They seem to last longer and are softer than the aftermarket KYB struts, even though the original are made by KYB they are not the same.
